BYOB Ohlins Review

Postby mrquick68 » Thu Nov 01, 2018 11:48 am

Has anyone tried the Ohlins fork/shock combo that is available as part of the BYOB program? I'd like to build a super trick BYOB 390RR RE this year, and am considering the Ohlins kit...

Thanks!

I had a customer do a very trick 2018 390 RE build, and he added Ohlins. It's good suspension, but like anything needs to be tuned for the rider.

Thoughts on Ohlins vs Dal Saggio?

First ride on the Ohlins. So far so good. Didn't even touch the clickers. Bottomed a few times off some large table tops - but nothing excessive, but still ripped the single track, roots, and rocks - i'll start turning clickers in another few hours. All in all, impressive components!

I have found it is of great importance to have the correct spring s for you weight and riding style. valving is spot on. in most cases.

yep, got mine sprung for my weight. other than that, i just need to keep doing break-in rides. It's winter, so not a lot of riding currently out here.
