2019 300rr Suspension

Postby xdab » Thu Jan 03, 2019 2:04 pm

Manual indicates pretty much full out on rear HSC and LSC as standard setting. I think it's like 20 and 22 out. Only have 22 and 24 to work with. Seems weird. Regardless, I can mess with it and find what works best but anyone out there have a happy setting that will give me a head start? I'm at 33/102 on my sag settings.

Hi!

Similar suggestions in the 2018 manual and earlier also. Way too soft for me even with a 54 spring. I like it with around 15-16 clicks out on both high and low speed. Check and adjust sag when shock is warm, when stopping for a break...

I just bought a 2019 300 RR. Is there a break in period where the suspension will soften up a bit? It seems harsh.

That being said, I just came off a KTM 300xc with the suspension done by KTM World. It was plush. I was hoping the 2019 Beta suspension would be plush, but that is not the case.

I only have 3 hours on it, but unless someone says the 2019 suspension is plush once it breaks in, I am getting it revalved.

I too have a 2019 300RR, My shock was too stiff, I looked at the spring rate and the book said I have the correct spring. I'm 160 and my gear is about 15 pounds. fast speed bumps was OK, It was the slow single track with hard hits. I left the 5.2 spring and tried 5.0. better, I ended up with 4.8 and now I do not need a re- valve. the book said 4.8 is up to about 140 pounds. remember this an average. My static sag is still at 35. Trust the seat of your pants and not always the book. :) PS, most important. I'm 62 years old. This is why I went with softer spring. A young man will have a different opinion.,

It does seem like the HS on the shock likes to be 18-20 and there's only 22-21 clicks, I never really kept track of the HS, I just turn it out until I get it where everything works, you'd thing it should be in the middle or close.

Try taking your rebound screw 2 to 3 clicks clockwise

No big info here; but from day one my 2018 suspension has felt quite plush, certainly not harsh. I am probably at the upper edge of weight for the stock springs being 175lbs + camelback & parts. As an aside, I have heard quite a few complaints about harshness on the racing versions of these bikes. I didnt buy one for that reason, since I dont race.

Unless you're the mythical "typical rider" Sachs and Beta tuned the suspension for, you can benefit from a revalve.

First order of business has to be spring rates though. Beta's charts are typically one or two rates too soft for most riders.

One thing we typically do when revalving shocks is to reduce the low speed and high speed compression stack so that the adjusters can be run in the middle of the range and actually provide adjustability in both directions.

Hi

Might be a stupid question but the manual for my 2019 300rr states fork oil 510g per leg. Is this a misdprint and it means 510ml?

Any suggestions on oil level in these forks?

Cheers
