Imagine my surprise when after prepping the bike all day and fixing a flat, when I realize the shock has a big hollow reservoir and I can reach in and touch the separator piston. Apparently the cap with the nitrogen port held by a circlip fell off at some point, who knows when. I expected that the oil would have blown out, but apparently the separator has it's own circlip. Now my question, those parts are gone, maybe I'll go for a bladder since the parts are likely scarce. Idea's?
FYI, the shock had been rebuilt a few years back, so it was not any kind of defect AFAIK.
