2019 200RR springs

Postby NeechieK » Tue Oct 15, 2019 5:16 am

Hi All,

I have a '19 200RR unfortunately it's sprung a bit too softly for my lardyness (just over 100kgs with kit).

Where's the best place to get replacement springs from in the UK?

Also I'm just going with the manual which suggests:

4.6 for the forks and 5.2 for the shock

Anyone replaced their springs and found these recommendations to be way off?

Cheers

I'm about the same weight and went with .47 front and 5.7 rear, but I'm on a 250, my springs were K-tech out of the UK, vary nice.

Not sure on the 19' but the 20' forks came will to much pre-load on them, book spec's 260mm length, I went with 255 and lowered the spring perch clip to the bottom and there was still a bit to much pre-load.

I went down to K-Tech recently and got springs for my 2020 200RR.

The 2020 standard springs are 4.2 in the fork and 5.2 on the shock. I'm a similar weight and went to 4.4 and 5.4 respectively.

Check the length of your fork springs before ordering. I think K-Tech's website quotes 455 mm length and my 2020 springs are 460mm. Not sure if it's them or that the springs have changed.

If you go in person, ask for a discount.

I have only done an hour or so on my new springs round the Peak District. It has greatly improved the handling, especially deflection on the fist sized rocks that roll under the front wheel. The back end is a bit higher now as I am finding it tricky to get the race sag right without the static sag being too low. I'm currently at 110mm race sag and 28mm static.
