Anybody know the standard shim stack? Bike feels harsh on the high speed stuff, not plush at all. Might soften up in time but thinking ahead

I've noticed the same symptoms and to be honest, I'm a little disapointed with the KYB's. The whole idea of going with the race version was to get better suspension. Anyway, I've had mine re-valved by a respected tuner in my area and that helped to a certain degree. I've removed 30 cc's of oil from each leg, installed micro bleeders and backed off the rebound from factory settings. I had a feeling that the forks were not rebounding fast enough for the next obstacle and that it contributed to the overall harsh feeling. It seemed that the first obstacle might feel ok but if the were several in a row, such as a rock field, the fork wasn't reacting fast enough. Lastly, more breakin time is either helping or I'm just adjusting to their mannerisms.

To get a correct Answer, What is your height & weight? What is your static & rider sag? What conditions are you considering high speed? By nature a closed chamber fork is not as plush as an open chamber. Generally the valving in any fork is very close for the last several years. Most of the improvements inare found with correct sag(chassis geometry), p- spring, oil volume, mid-valve. This is a fork designed for MX. The public wanted a "name brand" you got it. The tuning needed for these is the same I do for KYB & Showa's for off-road.

This fork can be made to be very very plush and have great bottoming resistance you need to find a better tuner. Where are you located ?

I'm in WA we have a gun here for off road, I'll ask if he knows a good tuner in South Oz. They do need a shuffle but the base unit is great.
