2015 Marzocchi Forks Broken?

Postby bombx3 » Mon Aug 24, 2015 9:01 am

I have these on the 300 racing . I have just changed the fork seals and that was easy but the 19mm nut on the bottom off one of the forks keeps going around on the other fork it locked up ok, I did not even get near the 70n torque

Is there something I have done wrong?

Sounds like the threads are stripped. 70Nm is ridiculous for that thread. Remove the cartridge for a closer inspection.

According to Marzocchi's manual, torque spec for the 19mm bolt is 50N.m . :!: :!:

Are you sure the cartridge is properly seated? The oring on the rebound adjuster assy can be a snug fit in the foot if dry, and sometimes needs a push to fully seat. Not sure but without the friction of the seated assy, you could possibly just be spinning the damper rod. I grease the oring and threads, run the nut up by hand, then use a small 3/8" pneumatic on low torque to snug the nut before the torque wrench. Never a problem.
