I dont think that forks matter, but the upper tripple definitely matters.

would you know if racing edition has different triple than standard edition?

No they don't.

Maybe he said no because the standard Beta bar clamps won't work???

That may be why. I did have to swap out the bar clamps for taller ones, but I suppose spacers would work too
