this is great info phatphat. i'm pretty new to beta and thought you might be able to confirm there have been no changes to the beta wheels since 2013?

very keen to pick up a set of cheapie ktm wheels to adapt to the new 2015 RR300 and throw some trials tires on them.

I'm no expert but as far as I know they are the same since '13.

Something else to keep in mind that the MX bikes ran the larger diameter axles of 25mm
The Enduro bikes ran a smaller diameter axles being of 22mm, just to further the information in here.

The MX bikes changed to the larger axles from 2013 I believe :)

my buddy just bought a 2017 300rr, and has a spare set of wheels from a 2010 ktm 300XC, am I correct to tell him he needs an extra set of beta front spacers, beta rear rotor, and take 2mm off the brake side rear spacer? does he need any other spacers given the 2010 axle diameter?

I also have a set of KTM wheels off a 2012 300xcw and picking up a 2016 250rr race. Would be great to be able to use them as spares! This Beta forum is absolutely worth its weight in gold!

The KTM 640 or 690 rotor is the correct diameter ...

Sorry if I'm asking the obvious... but based on past posts about older Husky wheels fitting... would a set of wheels off a 05 TE510 fit right up? Or would I need new spacers?

Correct. he may have to change front wheel bearings to suit depending on what year wheels they are on the front. Rear, will fit the above mods. Just make sure and double check which side it has to be modded as I cannot remember

I took 0.100" off the spacer on the disk side of my spare KTM rear wheel and it slid in perfect.

BTW that is 2.5mm but I would have thought .5mm is not going to make that much difference - not on the disk side anyway.

Old tread I know, but before I spend $1000 on a set of used wheels, I want to double check

I’m looking at a set of wheels off of a 2017 KTM EXC for my 2016 Beta 500 RS

The wheels have an oversized front rotor which I’m assuming will not work on my bike but I can just get a stock KTM front rotor and it should work. I just use spacers from my front wheel on the Beta

For the rear, I can have 2mm shaved off of the right (brake) side and they should bolt right up. Then I can get a rear rotor from a KTM 690 (will any year model work?) and I should have the correct 240mm rotor for my bike

Also these are Cush hub so I’m assuming I’ll just be able to get sprockets made for KTM and they’d be correct?

Thanks !!
