Swingarm/mudflap

Check your swingarm where the edges of the shock mudflap can contact it. You may find wear that is well through the powder coat. The Beta swingarm is a beautiful part but there is no extra wear block surfaces or rough casting left in this area like on most other bikes. The mudflap is also a little softer and straighter so it tends to rub on the edges. I bonded two small pieces of aluminum to these areas as wear surfaces. Perhaps a simple stick on plastic solution or trimming the flap will work too, or maybe its just my bike! :o Not a big deal but check just in case.

Hey there, yes after reading this post my shock mudflap has also worn away the black anodising and around one and a half millimetres into the alloy about the size of your small finger nail was worse on the left side,as a quickish fix I mixed up some araldite epoxy to fill in had to keep pushing the araldite back into place until it started to cure, thanks for the warning.Cheers Richard

What about the tie-wrap fix?
Isn't enough?

Put a big tiewrap in the swingarm so the mudflap rubs against the t/w not the s/arm.
I think I've seen it here or in T/talk....

That works too. Trimming the edges of the flap is also a good idea, just seems a few mm too wide at the bottom.
