Radiator Louvre Guards

Postby Hubert Carpet » Mon Dec 30, 2013 2:14 pm

One of the few gripes I have about the '14 300 RR is the quality of the plastic louvre guards on the rads. They are particularly thin and flimsy and they rattle really badly when riding. One has already split and both are wearing on the locating pins and going brittle from the heat.

Given that the rads themselves look like the pre 2005 KTM units from the RFS engined models, has anyone tried the KTM louvre guards from these rads as replacements? I would expect that the Acerbis plastic will be more robust as I have had 3 post-2005 KTMs and never had an issue with the rad guards. These had different fixings to the Beta ones with pins on the outside and circular lugs on the frame side locating over the fixing bolts.
2020 200RR.
2014 300RR. Gone but not forgotten.

Just zip-tie them and they will be ok.
2013 and afterwards are different toprevious years, their fins are moved to the front so they pick up more air for the radiators.
I did broke one riding single trails but they are cheap to replace.
