The bend is actually minor. It bent at the joint near the center at the edge of the bar clamp. The aluminum got distorted and split however the joint itself still appears tight.
Sorry, I tried to post pics off my phone but the files are too big.

I tried again, see if this works.

The photo is a little large and out of focus, but I see where the aluminum separated. I would give one of the Doug's a heads up and see what they have to say. Also, my understanding was that the entire bar is composite with aluminum sheathing overlaid where your controls etc. are attached.

Upon closer inspection you are correct. The aluminum is not solid and is overlaid on the composite. I apologize for giving bad info. Complete misunderstanding on my part when the bar design was explained to me.
That being said I am still a huge fan of the TE bars. I have run the Fasst Flex bars also because of a bum wrist. Both bars are a big help in reducing the shock to ailing body parts but I felt the TE bars offered a little more comfort.
I have even more faith in the TE design after tearing up this set. I don't feel any bar regardless of type or design would have come out any better in this particular crash.

I agree. I was taking a beating before I got mine. Please let us know what the TE guys have to say about the damaged bars?
