Front brake too sensitive

Postby woodsrider300 » Tue Sep 12, 2017 7:31 am

2016 300rr. bought bike new. First Beta and love it. front brake is way to sensitive. Have got pretty used to it but after riding other brands and getting back on mine really notice it. Need front pads soon. has anybody used a different brand or compound that helps the sensitivity issue?

I would get some kind of organic pads if you want a softer bite. You could also do a poor job of bleeding them to introduce some air.

yea try some other pads.. or when you are spraying oil on the bike after washing conveniently get a little on the rotors.. no big deal. I like the Beta brakes as is.. They work awesome to me.. maybe I spray too much oil on my rotors too?? maybe by mistake but idk.. they work great to me.. maybe just change the pads...

I had the opposite thing happen to me. I replaced my worn stock pads with EBC pads. They had poor bite. I switched to cheapo tusk pads they are much better. I suggest trying the EBC's for what you want

I suspect you got the EBC organic pads and not the sintered. I don't know where the carbon pads fit as I've never tried them.

I just bought a 2018 250rr and I also feel the fron brakes are way to sensitive. Compared to my old WR 450. I will try the organic pads

I don't want to sound like a jerk. But man... I didn't think too sensitive could even be a thing for brakes. More sensitive means less finger effort. Less effort, means less work or less arm pump. I love the brakes on the Beta and would use pads with 'more' bite if I could.

I feel the same way. Beta brakes are awesome to me. I just figure maybe someone has a different experience?? Idk just going more benefit of the doubt... but honestly I don’t see an issue.. but change pads or get a little lps spray touch thebrake pads while spraying the wheels?
