Tall rider on a Beta 250RR

Postby Yoshi » Tue Jan 02, 2018 8:32 pm

After a couple of rides i wanted to share my own experience on a new 2017 250 RR. Firstly, i'm late 40's, 6' 4", OK shape, 215 lbs (need to drop a few!) used to race motocross in UK many years ago. Need to mention also ride a CRF450X. I had 2 major reservations before taking the plunge with this bike.
Firstly, would i long for more power and wish i had gone for the 300 (I'll cover this in a separate post titled "250 or 300? Glad to have gone the direction i did...").
Secondly, would i find this bike physically too small? This is where i break out and sound like a sales marketing person for Beta USA, honestly i'm just another guy who really enjoys riding single track in Pacific NW. But wanted to squash any concerns a similar taller framed rider might have if on the fence post about buying a Beta. Current mods Fastway 3 lowered footpegs, Rox bar risers (installed with grips over forks as to not screw up geometry) & Seat Concepts tall seat. What this has done is made the most comfortable, easily ride-able bike i have ever owned...i really fit well on this bike, it is an absolute joy to flick around every rock or root on the trail.
If you are a tall rider, buy one!

I'm 6'4" and all I've done to my 300 is bar risers and it works perfect for me. I'm glad you are liking your bike.

6'2 here riding a 17 250rr in the PNW. Tall guts seat, KX high bend bar with an extra 10mm EE riser. Bike fits like a glove when standing now. Super comfy and still not super tall like my previous YZ250FX. I like it a lot better in the gnar stuff.
