Yup the Honda CRF sprocket works..
Went for my first big boy ride in the Boise NF around Cascade and found with stock gearing 13/49 on my 13 250RR I had some gaps on the uphills between 2nd and 3rd , first and second..

So I called Canyon Honda for a 12 CRF 450 51 tooth steel rear sprocket 33$ .. works like a charm.. only trouble I had was getting the old one off with the star pattern and red locktite on all of them

I had to pick up some generic sprocket bolts from cycle gear which worked very well... and was able to use the stock chain for the 51 bets

I just experienced the difficult to remove oem sprocket bolts/nuts also. The nuts are very soft metal and were enlongated after removal. I have a after market fastener I'll use when the sprocket arrives.

The nuts are deformed thread locknuts, they are like that by design, not by flaw.

Glen, I was able to reuse them on my first sprocket change. Just can't remember them being this difficult to remove and deformed. Are they ok to reuse this way? First time I've seen this. Thanks.

I have reused them a couple times. They are always tight when I check.

I used the blue Loctite last sprocket change, and they were all nice and tight.

A Honda sprocket will NOT work. The I.D. is correct. The bolt pattern diameter is off by less than a mm. I check this myself with the OEM Beta sprocket off the hub and laid several brands of sprockets from my son's '12 450R Honda on the Beta's hub. Nope.

Thanks Mcnut.
That makes more sense than manufactures making two identical parts with different numbers. I'm guessing those guys that got them to fit have slightly worn holes in the hub. They will for sure now because the screw is going to center harder into the taper than the straight hole in the hub.

Just one of the joys of being the new kid on the block. I went through the same accessory pain in the early eighties with KTM. Sprocket Specialists should be able to provide any gearing anyone needs. I was looking through websites last month for sprockets and I think it was either Afam or Renthal that list some. They're probably the supplier for OE.
