Picked mine up yesterday. cycle Shed in North Vernon, IN is awesome. seems like a really good group.

they wrenched all day to set up my bike. hours after close, I got to drive off. have only taken it for a short spin down the road, but cant wait.

this is my first smoker. been riding for many years and owned more than a hand full of 4 strokes.

the power is impressively smooth. Very low vibration at the bottom end of the rpm range. It looks great too.

I had been looking for information on the 17 for a few weeks with no luck.

I will be racing this on Sunday on a mix MX track. If anyone has any questions, I will do my best to answer.

Congrats! I've had mine for a week . . . when you get 8-10 hours the motor feels like it gets even better! Got the suspension set up today - he put in springs for my weight, raised the forks 12mm, set the sag at 105mm, watched me ride on his track making adjustments along the way. NO revalving necessary. Very plush, both wheels stick like glue and soak up trail trash. Big ride tomorrow

Pulled off a 3rd in Vet C. My first race on my first ride on this machine. Very nice. Never once missed my 4 stroke. pulled amazing. hit a steep hill in third and it bogged down. I down shifted twice and as I hit first it started to pull again and threw me up over the top.

It rode so low in the rpm range that I was forgetting it was a smoker. it rides with the momentum of a 4 stroke.

I bought this without ever seeing one and couldn't be happier with it.

Light, low seat, grab handles, no mixing, great suspension, good mileage, kick stand, decent price, low need for mods.

I have to add one more thing. Kelvin demonstrated it in his gravel lot and said it would work up hill. I was skeptical to say the least.

My trails are in the ridges of southern Indiana. I finally got my first ride last night at my place. My favorite trail is a 5 mile hard endure course. It has several ridge climbs. I made a mistake on one and ended up stalled half way up. backwards was down and forward was up. As I was thinking how screwed I was, I remembered my demonstration.
So...I...
Dropped the 300 into first and gave a slight twist to the throttle.
Pressed the magic button and......chug.....chug.....braapp!!!
The starter pulled my 210 lb ass on the bike up and over the ridge.

Absolute amazement!!!

While that might have worked I wouldn't make a habit of it. The Bendix gear seems like just a heavy press fit on the shaft, no weld, no spline, and not one piece. Seems similar or the same as the KTM Bendix which IS that way and have been known to fail in that mode. JMO.

Congats on the bike and your ride! I picked up the exact same bike last Friday prepped it did a bit of riding, raced sunday Hare Scramble, was amazed! Came off 2015 500RS. Was taking it easy getting used to bike (reminding self no engine braking after blowing a few corners) still pulled out a 4th in vet B, would have been 1st in senior B but wanted to go against the younger ones (I'm 49.) really impressed with the bike, suspension started to settle in by the end of the race as was deflecting as expected for a bit.
Agree with you not much needed, just protection, and adjustments!

That is about the same for me. felt slow but was ahead of most of my class. I did blow threw a few corners before getting the hang of it. A couple times I caught myself just trail riding. kept having to remind myself that I was racing and trying to beat these guys.

It's a fun bike to ride.

Well hello everyone! my first post, and soon to be on my first beta! I've only had a quick ride on a 13 250rr, after I had put a deposit on a 17 300rr! I'm glad to hear that the 17's are thought of as highly as they are. I'm coming off of 3 gasgas ec300's back to back as my dirt bike weapons, but I'm really looking forward as the Beta seems to be the next big thing in endure bikes!
