MSR also make collapsible bags to carry gas, it's nice to not deal with an empty jug for half your ride.

I put a 3 plus gallon tank on my bike which helped the range. If I need to carry extra gas, i carry
one liter in a Smartwater plastic container. It will not get soft when filled with gas (at least not on an all day ride).
Much thinner and lighter than a MSR bottle.
