Ride below 4,000 feet most of the time, 250. Otherwise, 300.
I went with the 300RR. I'm about 9' above sea level and have done well on torque monsters, lugging the motor and short shifting. Winding it out and getting the engine to scream has always gone against the grain for me. Like nails on a chalk board. FWIW and IMHO, my r6 race bike was not more fun than the SV650 race bike, especially on short courses with many turns. I figure the woods are the same kind of track so I went torque monster again!
