Why don't we hear from more guys who are racing these? Seems everyone is racing the 2Ts. Hard to find anyone racing a 350 here in the east. Looking for some real reviews as I might want one next season.

I've got about 20 race hours on a 2014 350 Factory which is essentially the no-holds-barred effort in 2014 that had the new motor and all of the good stuff (minus EFI).

The bike carburets and runs like a champ, and in the more open courses is hard to match in terms of a planted feel. That being said my own physical condition (or lack thereof) causes me to curse the extra weight versus the 2Ts, no matter how well it pulls and how easy it is to ride.

I've developed some suspension and chassis settings that have it handling and turning better much than stock, and combined with the positive attributes it shares with all Betas makes it very easy to like, and I've often said if I could only own two motorcycles that the 350 would definitely be one of them.

Thanks! I see a lot of guys around here going to the KTM350 and the new YZFX and loving the bikes. They as expected do much better in the more open formats and the rocky mountain locations as long as it's a fast paced setting. The more technical or tight it gets, the more the 2Ts run up front.
I'm really curious how the Beta 350 compares to both the KTM 350 and YZFX. I'll either pick up a Beta 350 as a second option or just use the 2t 300 everywhere like now. I'm the only Beta in Virginia I think.

The YZ250FX is tall! Other than that and the ridiculous electronics packaging(or unpackaging  ) its a nice bike. Is the YZ250F that tall? Specs have the newer YZF shorter than the '13 YZF, and that wasn't bad.

Funny, my brother rides a nicely set up and bulletproofed Husky TXC310. He bought an old '04 Husky WR250 and went through it for my nephew to race. A couple weeks ago he took it out in the nasties and rode the old bike way better than the 4stroke. TXC is now for sale.

I rode the Yamaha FX and Beta 390 back to back. If I was racing only I would pick the FX but the Beta 390 has one of the best motors I have ever tried and just works so well everywhere you ride it.

I think the carb is a lot more forgiving, EFI bikes I've tried seem very "digital", pop and die (but restart) easier.

There's a video review of the EFI 350 and it claims the synerjet (???spelling) system feels somewhere between go/no go EFI and the carb response lag of the previous model, saying it was a great thing in the tight tech but implied it wasn't as nice as the quick response of the KTM/YZ et al in the open. They did praise the throttle advance engine brake reduction though they weren't able to tune it.

We have no dealers here in VA....I'd love to know if there is ever a demo in a neighboring state to feel one out.

There are ways around the typical EFI feel if the ECU/firmware were to allow the user to program the relative parameters. I had an '02 Cannondale. Not a success story by any means but the EFI system back then was totally flexible with the right software package, or hacking the file. Much more could be tailored than just the fuel and ignition matrix. There were parameters that allowed changing the systems response time to + and - relative TPS changes. This had a big effect on the overall feel of the system. Stock the bike was like diesel truck, after some (well, a lot) work it had better manners than some of the systems today. I suspect the reason behind all this is that the older ECU was an off the shelf unit used in some street bikes as well, larger in size and power consumption. The newer systems designed for MX bikes that run on lower power from the stator and a capacitor are likely more simple and specialized.

Redrider, you could ride ours in the field behind the shop. We probably can't get you on any real single track, :P but at least you could get a feel for it. Send me a message or a give me a call.

Oh, we also have a 2015 390 to demo.
