ODI v2 lock on grips 2 stroke

Postby little_wing » Mon Oct 16, 2017 5:57 pm

Picked them up today for 25 CND
Install was simple.
I run wrap round bark busters. so the ends had to be cut.
ODI is smart when it comes to this. all you do is stick a punch or a screw driver in the grip and give it a whack and the end comes off.
you do have to cut just the rubber but the plastic tube ends are molded very thin on where you need to cut to run bark busters so the plastic just breaks on a line from the factory.
I did have to file a small bur on the throttle side where the plastic did not break in a perfect circle. but the clutch side broke of in a perfect circle.

I choose the half waffle.
they are pretty tacky rubber
I did find that because they both have a plastic tube that the rubber is mated to the grips to me seem to be a bit larger diameter then normal glue on grips. but its a very very small difference.

I have yet to ride the bike, that should be this weekend I wil post here with what I think about then while riding

I would not class them as "thick" I have a riding buddy with massive hands so he uses some big big grips
but I would say that I think they are a few beaver hairs thicker then the Avg grips
but not a huge amount
I will let you all know this weekend

Been using the lock on's for about 6 years, Love the idea, and ease to install. to break the ends out, I slide them on then give them a tap with a rubber mallet. Nice way to get a perfect circle on the rubber as well

I hated the lock on grips. I ride with people that love them and swear by them, but I couldn't do it. I don't find gluing grips all that difficult. First I tried the Emig version and the rubber was like concrete. Then I tried the normal black lock ons and they transmit a lot of vibration through the handlebars. The clutch side grip was a lot narrower as well which didn't fit my hand very well. I thought they had a smaller diameter than normal grips, but maybe that's just what it felt like.

Just my experience with them.

Which cam did you use for two stroke application, C or D?

If you are still looking for the answer, and for anyone else, cam D is the answer for the Beta 2 strokes.
