IMS tank in the "natural "color choice are orange. dingy old looking orange.
in the process of returning it for a black one.

My '14 oversized tank is the correct natural color. Let's me see how much gas is left. They must have corrected them since yours.

Tip I received from IMS when my KTM tank from them was dingy. Place the tank in direct sunlight for 3 days. White as white after that

That's pure gold! I wonder how they figured that out ... maybe they had a batch that looked sketchy and they left them outside wondering what to do with them ...

Yeah they said that their new molding process which gave a them a stronger tank had the after effect of getting a not so white finish and that by letting the sun work on it a bit would bleach out the ugly

Not quite tank bleaching season here yet, would have to put it in the tanning booth. If anyone swaps and wants to sell,a '14 OEM tank let me know.

I just saw your post and didn't know if you still need a day or 2.5 clear tank off a 2014 300 RR race addition. I just moved up to the IMS 3.2 so I really don't plan on putting the old one back on, especially since I had to modify the shrouds. Just let me know....it's been a while so maybe you've already got one

So what has to be done to the plastics to make the 3.2 gal tank fit?... any particular issues with the biggest tank?

HR: just a little trimming on the shrouds - for a better idea as to how much just go to the IMS site and pull up the instructions on it. Pics are pretty good and it spells it out. I'm happy with my tank, the first developed a leak at one of the shroud fastener insets and IMS got me a new one in a short time. I originally used the right side petcock that comes with the tank, but it is a cheap piece - so I removed it and made a cover to close the opening. That also got rid of all that extra fuel line and joints, and I went with an automotive fuel line to get rid of the industrial sized fuel line that is provided. You can feel the difference with the tank especially in the extra weight up high, but you soon get used to it. After setting float height and jetting to my riding area I can now get around 80 miles to the tank at a fairly good rate of speed. I would think that it would be sufficient for around 70 miles at a race pace.
