favorite handguard setups

Postby Alta Redneck » Wed Feb 25, 2015 7:27 pm

I have a 2015 300rr race coming in any day now so I'm gathering up parts. I was wondering what everyone runs for handguard setups. I've had cycra probends on my KTM and enduro engineering with bike bonz bar clamp mounts on my gasgas. I really like the bike bonz mounts but hated the look of the enduro guards.

Thanks

I like the Fastway version 2 , very clean install, doesn't use up bar space

EnduroEngineering here. dig 'em. i've had two sets now but i've also had three sets of Cycra PB TC mounts on previous bikes with lo-pro guards and liked them too. the Cycras were on two Huskys and one Ape.

the dip in the EE handlebar mount is perfect on my Beta. controls are set just how i like them.

I like the Cycra probends .. strong and I think they look good.. but lots are good.. just depends on what you like. ..mine is the first 15' 300rr next to the van but .. just the standard moose racing is great to me.. or any decent quality one..

I run Flexxbars so use a special BRP pivoting mount. I do use EE handguards/sheilds, and without Flexxbars on my older GGs used the Bike Bonz mounts as well. I like the EEs because they are super common and I can get one anywhere fast if I break one, even from vendors at the races. Also, very little to no tweaking to fit with the Bonz. If you run a damper, check out the BRP site I think they now make an integrated damper/bar clamp/handguard mount to fit EE and Cycra guards (shorter than Fastway). If you already have the Bonz you can make a simple top plate damper mount, works fine.

Bike Bonz tip: Use a BRASS bolt to mount the handguard to the Bonz. In a big get off the steel bolt can bend the mount. Brass bolt will bend first and will not bend in typical falls. I do the same with the BRP Flexxbar mounts and carry a few in my tool bag trailriding.

Fastway Flak Shields. Protect your hands without breaking your wrists if you go over the bars...

This is the third bike we have put them on. No broken parts to this point - bike or rider.

I have the EE guards and for what they are they work great. I also have BRP (I think) clamp mounts that tighten everything up well.
