2016 Beta 300rr

Postby High Plains Drifter » Tue Dec 08, 2015 11:30 pm

The Beta has exceeded any possible expectations. This is the most enjoyable off road motorcycle I have experienced in my 42 years of riding. A Ducati of the dirt for enduro enthusiasts. Best in class....stock suspension, motor(so smooth that this bike has set the absolute STANDARD for traction/control), clutch feel, progressive yet strong braking power, compact and comfortable ergonomics(consider a Seat Concepts option). Let's not forget the bike's absolute stunning charisma.

The Beta company has been active since 1904, and has been making motorcycles since the 1940's. Beta is still currently a family owned, cash-flow positive business. I waited over a year to pull the trigger on buying a Beta 300rr; now I wonder why I wasted so much time.

Thanks to you guys for creating and contributing to this forum! I would have likely been more hesitant to purchase a Beta without all of your honest input(good and bad). Also to be fair, the bike in it's first 7 hrs has leaked some fuel(float issues discussed on here at length), and had some very small fluid leaking on the engine(also discussed at length on the forum).

Regarding suspension, a few of you had me sincerely scared and I was braced for potential disappointment. By hour 6(day 2) of pounding whoops, nasty square edge bumps, deep rain ruts, lava cap, rocky ridges/ledges, I was literally laughing in my helmet at how well this bike works. I haven't set the sag yet, I am 196lbs(likely too heavy for the stock springs with gear), and I was riding with conservative expert level riders at medium pace. I did increase the compression as the suspension began to break in and found that it kept the bike up higher in the stroke, making easy work of most of the trails we ride. I was out with a Husky 300 and a 16 KTM 300 xcw. The other riders were loving the Beta. They kept commenting on how amazing the motor sounded(smooth soft low end) and how well the bike was tracking through the terrain.

Stoked to join the club, will post as many pics and videos as time allows!

Cool. I was just up there in October riding with my brother on my Beta. Did the Rubicon, Verdi/Pinenut and then up around Donner somewhere.

Rubicon was my favorite. The Beta was awesome on there.
