2016 300RR

Postby kumz » Wed Dec 09, 2015 12:36 am

New guy to the forum here. Recently picked up a new 2016 300RR. Been on pumpkins - 150, 200, 250, 300. Most recent bike was a GG EC200 which was an awesome battle tank.

The beta is an absolute dream. It has its quirks, and needs to be dialed in a bit, but I absolutely love it. Did a 2 tank ride today in some nasty mud and creek beds and she handled well. Running a bit hot, i think its a hair lean in the needle, and the stupid thermostat system dosent flow well. Lowered the needle clip 1 notch, and Removed the thermostat crap today, and hitting the trails again tomorrow.

Glad to be part of the team!

Good luck. Never saw one run lean/hot with stock jetting. Careful with that. The T Stat shouldn't be a problem either although I removed mine as well, no difference at all. If anything I'd run a little added oil in the fuel if your running it hard escpecially it being new.

well, dropped the clip to the middle notch and went in 1 turn on the air screw. Much better off idle and mid throttle. Put on the silicone hose Tstat bypass and she definitely runs cooler. Still fiddling with the rebound on the forks. So far the sweet spot is 6 clicks out. Rear is completely perfect.

Middle position(#3) is stock, perhaps dealer rejetted and overdid it? What jetting, temp, elevation? I notice palm trees in the pic, no need for a TStat. :D That spot in the frame is a mess and much better with it gone.

Fork probably needs stiffer rebound like the pre '16s. For some reason they like to valve that way, even the Zoke 48s were loose.

yeah, I'm in Hawaii, so no weird cold white stuff for us

As for the needle, thats weird. my dealer is an awesome small company and he didn't open up the carby. It was on the 2nd position when it got here. Either way, she liked it. This electric start is a wonder. Ive always been one of those "kick only bah humbug e-start" kind of guy, but now love it.
