Regarding the T stat bypass: I fitted the silicone hose kit that does this to my 300. I find on initial start up it has warmth in the radiator as quickly as it ever did. If you ride where it's snowing or similar conditions maybe you need it.

I'd love to see what temperature it opens at, I reckon it'd be pretty low.

From what I have been told they come on at about 91-94 degree's .. much lower than the Kato's do

I took the switch of the housing to have a look, they have a temp range printed on it. it's a 92 C from memory.
Comes on pretty early, which is good.
