Fasst Company rear brake clevis and return spring

Postby little_wing » Wed Jul 27, 2016 2:53 pm

hey all.
so I had a very sloppy rear brake clevis. actually clevis and pin was fine but the rear brake pedal from factory has a larger hole then the outer dia of the pin there for the pedal would have play before it would move the clevis.
so ordered up a Fasst company rear brake clevis that promised to get rid of the play. I also ordered their rear brake return spring and bucket.

installing is straight forward. no surprises. although there was no included instructions.

the new Fasst company clevis did exactly what it promised to do ... no more sloppy rear brake...
the return spring and bucket was much more of the same...

most of us have the sloppy rear brake... all you need is the fasst company clevis but the return spring and bucket are nice to look at

Just added to my wishlist.

Just re-read this...are you saying to pass on the return spring...just go with the Clevis?

I've been wanting to do the same thing. I hate that stock sloppy clevis. I let a friend ride it and it was the first thing he noticed too. I can't believe Nissin uses that cheap little piece.

Which size return spring works for the Beta, 8mm or 6mm?

just curious but doesn't adjusting the stock nut help eliminate the play? Or does it just change when it engages? I do have a lot of play and just started thinking about it more because of this post.

On the new clevis you bought can you still have play? I like a little just I case I don't accidently keep my toe on it causing drag..Thanks

in order to fix the sloppy pedal all you need is the cleivs but then return spring and bucket set up is nice as you can adjust how much pressure from your foot is needed to apply the brakes. the only other way is to buy many different strengths of the stock return springs to figure out which you like.... with the fast company one all you do is all preload on the spring by turning the "bucket"

I just placed my order for the Fasst Co. clevis in black finish. If after installing it I still feel like I need to adjust the spring I'll get it too. My main concern was the slop though. Pedal feel actually seems okay to me.

Their shipping rates are a little unreasonable though. $6 for each part that will fit in an envelope is steep. No shipping discount for buying both which was going to be $12.
