80/100-21 TT 51R (GOP3172AA)
90/90-21 TT 54R (GOP3177)
90/100-21 TT 57R (GOP3176) “Fatty”

Picked up a couple new tires the other day, the GT216AA 90/90-21, and the GT232N 120/100-18. All I really wanted was the GT232, since we are coming into wet season here in Washington. My GT216AA 80/100 front is still in good condition but the local dealer said he had the “fatty front” and I figured that I was already there so might as well pick one up too and give it a go. After getting home and checking out the part numbers, I found out that it isn’t the fatty...more in between the two. Also, the 80/100 already on the front has (90/90) right next to it. So I dug into a couple websites and found conflicting descriptions, with most saying it was meant for Hard to very hard terrain. First I heard of “very hard” but whatever...not the terrain I wanted. So I contacted Goldentyre West in Vancouver, Washington and felt better about my buy.

This is what he said: The 90/90 has the same tread compound and characteristics of the fatty but with a normal rolling diameter. I will get better input opposed to the fatty, and it is meant more for tight single track. The 90/100 fatty is better/smoother in Hard Enduro and has better high speed stability. The 80/100 is a sharp razor blade meant for mud/sand.

Long story short, I plan on keeping it and trying it on for size. Has anyone tried out all three?
