installed my scotts dampener and brp sub mount on my 2015 300 rr.. very easy install.you must grind the frame mount lip to fit the 15.. took less than a hour. great support thu brp

I am not sure if I have a problem or not, but even on softest setting, I feel too much dumping from my scotts.

I am looking to have almost 0 low speed damping, but good amount of high speed damping as insurance. But I can't dial out low speed damping the same way I want to.

A lot of it you will get used to. That said, you can try a lighter oil. I'd try one of the very light syn fork or shock oils like Redline. The stock oil is 2.5W but not knowing the brand finding the actual viscosity in Cst will be impossible. Oil change is easy. I have a second old Scott's, been on a lot of bikes since '97. It has a lot of internal wear but performance is acceptable with heavier oil to make up for it.

Interesting…..Have you used a Scotts damper on another bike (such as a KTM)?
I'm planning on installing this very set up on my Beta this week, have used one for years on my 09 300 XCW with good results.

I have a BRP sub mount kit in the UK if anyone here is interested. A beautiful peice of work but no good for my new KTM, a great shame.

yes... ALL my bikes had steering damper. to me it's a must have insurance. all I am saying that Beta is such a quick turning bike and Scotts takes some of it away, even on lightest setting.

I have not contacted Scotts yet about oil or other recommendations yet, but I do see that dialing in more high speed damping does affect low speed circuit.

I was liking the idea of the damper brp top clamp but don't like it that I don't have the furthest forward hole mount for the handle bars. I have a damper from my other bike but so far I'm not feeling that I need or want to put the damper on my 15' Beta 300 rr so far.. I'll see in time after I put more hours on.. but I like my bars further forward. I'm going to look at something else later as far as a setup that allows further forward bar mounting. ..maybe later if I decide to blow more money and put some twisted engineering bars maybe.. maybe but I don't feel a need for that either so far.

I've got them on mine (BRP's) and am using the blue soft rubbers. It's so subtle it's hard to say how it works, but I don't feel any shock in my wrists, and I can use whatever I can to prolong my hands, arms etc. I'm already fighting tennis elbow. I'm not running the dampener and have not had any headshake or deflection issues at all. I wasn't too crazy about not being able to put the bars forward either. I'm familiar with the "Cadillac" feel that Scott's gives the front end from my previous bike and I may put one on because it does build your confidence and that makes you ride faster. I never recall any noticeable feel in the steering being restricted when running them before and am surprised to hear your are experiencing it? I wonder if you have some other interference? Have you tried taking the Scott's dampener off and seeing if your front end turns free?

High speed setting does not affect low speed, but low speed affects high speed sensitivity significantly.

HDR, the Fastway adjustable top mount/clamp may work for you. I have one and using the middle holes on the stock clamp there was plenty of room for adjustment. You really need the forward holes? Generally not the best setup to move the bar center forward of fork center. Ever try a straighter bar?
