Typical Canuk with a Rush song on his riding vid!

Wife's family just was down from Duncan for Christmas and New Year's. Ridden on the Island a couple of times years ago. Fun stuff!

When I was in Sooke last summer, it looked like there is a dirt bike trail from Tansky to Port Renfrew on an Adventure Map. Any insight?

No direct route from Tansky that I'm aware of. The San Juan ridge forces one to either go around the coast on highway 14, or take a lengthly route north from the east side of Jordan river and Diversion Reservoir. (Jordan Main, Williams Main, Fleet Main, Lens Main onto the Pacific Marine loop.) I've tried a couple of times but haven't been able to get across the north side of Diversion Reservoir on Walker Main.

Of course, maybe a lengthly route in the back woods was exactly what you were looking for!

I cannot tell a lie. Rush is my favourite band. They are the number 1 band for geeks (me included) the world over! The fact that they are Canadian is a bonus.

If you head back up this way, PM me and we can do some riding!

Haha, that's funny! I'll definitely contact you when we head back up and try to bring my bike with me.

You'll have to put up with a fellow Beta rider who thinks the Allman Brothers were the greatest ever :D

I’m right across the Straits in Port Angeles.
I’ve tied to make a couple of trial events over there- never made it.
I’ll bet lots of riding similar to over on this side of the water. (Roots, logs, hills- loads of fun!)

You got it! It’s either rocky, rooty, slippery wet stuff or logging roads - nothing in between.
