4 stroke engine, carburation, EFI, and exhaust discussion

Have a 2016 350. Rode last weekend for 3 ish hours. Warmed it up in garage yeaterday to where I thought oil would be "hot" but really was probably more like warm to hot. Drained both plugs rockingbike back and forth. Filled engine oil and it took maybe 750 cc's before it's half way up the sight window. When I filled the tranny oil it only took maybe 400 cc's before it started flowing out the drain sight. I was scratching my head. Is there a second drain plug for the tranny or do I need to warm it up and check again? Confused.

Was the same for me (16 500RS), and confirmed when refilling. If the Trans holds 750ml, and draining yields 400ml then something less than 50% is exchanged.
Not a big deal just a little surprising and good to know. As you noted the motor oil seems to more closely match the spec and drain more fully.

Thx, yeah looked again this morning and it was nowhere near the sight hole. So filled another 300 cc's slowly and got the correct amount in. I have a Ktm 500 too and that thing just fills right up because it's just the engine oil. Filling the tranny oil apparently is just a slower process.

It was the same for me on my 2017 390 RR-S. I didn't see this topic as I posted a nearly identical thread. I don't think i got more than 400cc's in the transmission side either. However, it is still topped off after checking numerous times now. I wonder if it's not going side to side as much as tilting the bike into a wheelie to get all the oil to drain!
